27th November 2011 Kite surfing: ynyslas Wind Direction: WNW-W Wind Stength: 25 and dying Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: Max Speed: Distance Covered: Woke at 4am due to wetsuit breaking loose from ladder on van and had to go out and retrieve it to stop the clattering hanger... Blowing a hoolie but far too early. Nice sunny morning but high tide forced a delayed start. Got out at just after 11 with everyone else (counted 14 kites) once the beach appeared. Sadly the wind had died significantly and seemed to be full of holes. That combined with big waves and white water everywhere made for a hard working session. Decided after a couple of hours that it was just too much like hard work without really enough power to get out through the breaking waves or deal with the fast moving mush on the way back in - it was moving faster than I could without enough power to outrun it. Much colder than Saturday too. Saturday was the day but a pretty good weekend overall. |
